pcmanfm cut and paste does not work

I reported a bug in pcmanfm: #886825:

Cutting and trying to paste does not work. After cut, the right-click context menu contains a grayed out “Paste” entry. Menu entry Edit->Paste is not grayed out, but does nothing.

Surprisingly, copy and paste does work. And so does dragging the file to another tab.

I’m using gnome, and as far as I know, no clipboard manager is in use.
